Crucible

Your whole vocal chain in one plugin.

You've got a dry vocal and a stack of plugins to get it sitting right. Crucible listens to the take and sets the whole chain for that singer, in one window.

The Crucible vocal plugin
How it works

Press LISTEN.
Sing the part.

  • It hears the take first. Up to 20 seconds. It finds the key, the singer's level, the three frequencies that ring the most and where the S's live, then tells you what it heard in plain English.
  • Built for screams too. CLEAN or SCREAM. If LISTEN hears screaming it switches for you: the tuner steps aside, the compression gets harder and the de-esser backs off.
  • Tuning with two characters. NATURAL keeps the vibrato and slides. HARD snaps to the note, for the effect.
  • The whole chain, in order. High-pass and gate, tune, ring cuts, a peak catcher and a leveller, de-esser, tone, drive, doubler, tempo-synced delay and reverb that duck under the words.
  • Start from a sound you like. 32 presets for leads, doubles and stacks, rap and spoken, effects and screams. Every one level-matched, and they keep what LISTEN set for your singer.

Built for mixing. Crucible looks ahead to tune cleanly, so it adds 44 ms of latency, reported to your DAW so everything stays lined up. Use it on recorded takes, not while tracking live.

Mac: macOS 12+, Apple Silicon and Intel, AU and VST3. Windows: 10 and 11, 64-bit, VST3.
