NuEQ v0.2.0. Band 3 is a dynamic cut: the orange bar shows how far it can go.

Hear it

Real guitar, same bars, level-matched: same loudness, different tone. Six bands, two dynamic: low cut 70 Hz, boom 105 Hz (DYN), mud 320, box 650, presence 1.8k, fizz 5k (DYN).

Why a dynamic band

A static cut at 120 Hz fixes the two bars where the chugs pile up, and thins out the other ninety. A dynamic band only pulls the boom down when it actually builds up, and leaves the rest of the song alone. Switch on DYN, set the threshold, and watch the curve move with the music.
