Gallows
A guitar and bass amp that sounds like the circuit it's built on.
Most amp sims are captures of one amp on one day. Gallows models the tubes, the tone stack and the power supply, so it reacts to your picking the way an amp does. Then it gives you the pedals, the tuner and the cab in one window.

One window.
No chain of five plugins.
The amp
Four 12AX7 gain stages, a passive tone stack and a push-pull EL34 power amp with sag. The supply droops as you play, so a hard chord gets softer and a clean note stays crisp.
The bass amp
A clean low path under a driven top, split by a crossover, with an active EQ and an 8x10 cab. Your lows stay clean while the top growls.
The cab
A closed 4x12, an open 2x12, or load two of your own impulse responses and blend them. Drag the mic across the cone and slide it closer or farther to change the sound.
Tuner
Plays any tuning, from an 8-string guitar to a 5-string bass, and mutes the output while you tune.
Octave pedal
One octave up, one or two down, in front of the amp. It follows one note at a time, so it is for riffs and power-chord roots, not for full chords.
Chug, Low Dirt, Lo-Fi
Three tools for modern heavy tones on the guitar amp: a pick-attack punch, a fuzz layer under the low notes, and a radio band for breakdowns.
Boost and EQ
A boost or overdrive in front of the amp, and a six-band EQ after the cab.
Room, mix, limiter
A small stereo room, a dry/wet mix for parallel tricks, and a safety limiter with a clip light and a peak-hold meter.
Presets, A/B, undo
Save your own sounds, flip between two settings, and undo any move.
What we measured.
| Test | Result |
|---|---|
| Tuner accuracy on test notes, bass B0 up to guitar E4 | within 0.3 cent |
| Octave down, pitch against exactly half | within 0.4 cent |
| Every effect switched off: output vs the amp alone | bit-exact |
| Latency | 0.8 ms |
| CPU, guitar amp at 48 kHz | about a fifth of one core |
